Ennui, I remember a time long ago,

when I could run and skip and jump and fly away from your sodden arms.

Ennui, you had no power over me!

I was ennui free!

Ennui, you have such an exciting name for such a lethargy. 

It seems loanwords tend to stir,

even the ultimate listlessness can seem enticing

with enough of a French inflection.
